What We Believe
The Scriptures
We believe the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. It is the final rule for faith and practice.
2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21
The One True God
We believe there is one true and living God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit—equal in power and glory.
(Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
The Lord Jesus Christ
We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, substitutionary death, bodily resurrection, ascension, and His present ministry as our High Priest and coming King.
(John 1:1–14; Isaiah 7:14; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4; Hebrews 4:14–15)
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is a divine Person who convicts the world of sin, regenerates believers, indwells them, and empowers them for holy living and service. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the ongoing work of the Spirit in the Church.
(John 16:7–13; Acts 1:8; 2:4; Romans 8:9–11)
Man and Sin
We believe that man was created in the image of God but fell into sin through disobedience. As a result, all humanity is separated from God, fallen, lost, and in need of salvation.
(Genesis 1:26–27; Romans 3:23; 5:12)
Salvation
We believe salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ alone. It includes repentance, justification, regeneration, and adoption into the family of God—not by works, but by the finished work of Christ.
(Ephesians 2:8–9; Titus 3:5; Romans 5:1)
The Church
We believe the Church is the body of Christ, composed of all true believers, those who through saving faith in Jesus Christ are being transformed by the Holy Spirit. Its mission is to worship God, equip and edify believers, and evangelize the world.
(Ephesians 1:22–23; Matthew 28:19–20; Acts 2:42)
Ordinances
We believe in two ordinances given to the Church:
• Water Baptism by immersion as a testimony of faith. Infants may be dedicated rather than baptized.
• The Lord’s Supper as a remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice. His blood saved us and His body healed us.
(Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26; Is 53:4-5)
The Christian Life
We believe we are called to live holy lives, separated from sin and devoted to God, through the power of the Holy Spirit.
(Romans 12:1–2; Galatians 5:16–25)
Last Things
We believe in the personal return of Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the dead, the final judgment, and the eternal destiny of all people—eternal life for the saved and eternal separation from God for the lost.
(John 14:3; 1 Thessalonians 4:16–17; Revelation 20:11–15)
The Family
We believe that God has ordained the family as the foundational institution of human society, it is composed of persons related by marriage, blood, or adoption. Marriage is the covenant uniting one biological man and one biological woman. It is God’s unique gift to symbolize the union between Christ and His Church.
(Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4–6; Ephesians 5:31–33)
